About The Artist

I have always been an artist. I grew up in a small town where art classes were simply not available. I spent all my free time drawing and sketching and began investing in art supplies and books. Unfortunately, in an all too familiar story, I was discouraged in following my love of art as a career path so followed a business path instead. I continued taking courses in my spare time in drawing, painting, clay and metalsmithing. Now, after many years, I am finally following my passion. My art is no longer just a hobby but my focus. I spend my time painting and creating artisan jewellery specializing in torch fired enamels. I may have taken the long and winding road, but I have arrived at where I was always supposed to be.
My Process
I start my paintings intuitively. Expressive marks and splashes of colours that help capture the emotion of a moment. The painting at this point is raw and beautiful. I then start to become more deliberate. I study the marks and the movements and begin to make decisions in regards to contrast and composition being mindful of preserving the original soulful energy that was captured in the early intuitive phases. My works could be described as a mix of contemporary abstract and abstract landscapes.

"My art is inspired by all the little moments. It is my soulful impressions of these experiences that shape a life well lived."
