About The Artist

I have always been an artist. I grew up in a small town where art classes were simply not available. I spent all my free time drawing and sketching and began investing in art supplies and books. Unfortunately, in an all too familiar story, I was discouraged in following my love of art as a career path so followed a business path instead. I continued taking courses in my spare time in drawing, painting, clay and metalsmithing and always maintained a creative practice. Now, after many years, I am finally committing to my passion. My energy is spent on creating. I may have taken the long and winding road - but I believe it is precisely that path that gives my work its strength and authenticity.

About The Work
Paula is a contemporary abstract artist whose practice in acrylic and mixed media explores the emotional undercurrents of a society increasingly driven by speed, efficiency, and technological advancement. Her work emerges as a response to the relentless pace of modern life - a pace that often prioritizes productivity over presence and mechanization over meaningful connection. Through expressive gesture and intuitive mark making, Paula seeks to reclaim moments of vulnerability, presence and human feeling. Her compositions invite viewers to pause, reflect and reconnect with the subtle, often overlooked experiences that remind us of our shared humanity.

"My art is inspired by life’s small moments. My soulful impressions of these experiences invite others to pause and reconnect with what it is to be human ."
